To The Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist

Serving Christ as a vital part of our community since 1699.

 

The Cathedral Parish of St. John the Baptist seeks to proclaim and celebrate the gospel of Jesus Christ through worship, example, and action, recognizing its location in the heart of St. John’s and its responsibility as the Cathedral of the Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador.

Whether you are local or travelling from afar, we invite you to come visit our Cathedral. Tours are offered during the Summer season and the Cathedral is open during Office Hours throughout the year.

The 6th Electoral Synod for the Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador will be held on Saturday, 28 November 2020. Please pray for Synod and for the Candidates.

For Public Worship at the Cathedral!

We hope that you will join us for worship on-line at 11 a.m. with music and hymns led by our Cathedral Quartet and a sermon by one of your favourite clerics. Following this, we welcome you , if you desire, to join us for a said BCP Eucharist service at 2 p.m. (without hymns or sermon). We also have our Sundays@Seven series at 7 p.m. Find out more about Sundays@Seven here.

Please Note: There will be no Public Eucharist on November 15th, instead we will have the CLB Anniversary Service, which will be by Invitation only. You can watch this service on-line, through our Facebook page or YouTube Channel.


Attendance is limited and the registration process includes pre-screening questions. Please note that  kneelers will not be available for use. You are welcome to bring your own, if you like. Masks are mandatory for those 5 and older, unless you are exempted from wearing one.
